Introduction to PC/ABS alloy plate

PC/ABS alloy sheet is a high-performance engineering plastic sheet made by blending and extruding polycarbonate (PC) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymer (ABS).

It combines the high toughness and heat resistance of PC with the easy processing and high gloss advantages of ABS, achieving a balance between rigidity and toughness and optimizing comprehensive performance.

1、PC ABS Sheet Stock Core performance characteristics

Mechanical properties: balanced strength and toughness, tensile strength 50-70MPa, bending modulus 2000-2500MPa; The notch impact strength is 30-50kJ/m ²,

and it is resistant to impact and not easily brittle at -40 ℃; Creep resistance, fatigue resistance, and dimensional stability.

• Thermal performance: better heat resistance than pure ABS, heat deformation temperature 110-130 ℃, long-term use temperature * * -40 ℃ to 120 ℃ * *; The Vicat softening point is 112-142 ℃, suitable for medium to high temperature conditions.

• Processing and surface: Good fluidity, easier to process than pure PC, suitable for complex thin-walled parts; High surface glossiness, easy to spray, print, and electroplate, with excellent appearance texture.

Flame retardant and weather resistant: modifiable to UL94 V0 level flame retardant (1.5mm thickness); UV resistant, aging resistant, and resistant to yellowing in outdoor applications; Low odor, environmentally friendly and non-toxic, with some grades reaching food grade.

• Chemistry and Electrical: Resistant to weak acids, weak bases, alcohol, gasoline, etc; Excellent electrical insulation, stable dielectric constant, suitable for electronic and electrical insulation scenarios.

3. Summary of advantages and disadvantages

Advantages: Balance of rigidity and toughness, low temperature impact resistance, heat stability, easy processing and shaping, good surface texture, flame retardant and weather resistance, environmentally friendly and low odor, stable size, good electrical insulation.

Disadvantages: Higher price than pure ABS; Moderate resistance to strong acids/strong solvents; Long term high temperature (>120 ℃) is prone to aging.

Pc abs sheet is suitable for good vacuum moulding for large area and complicated industrial parts. It has good flame-resistance, low smoke density, good impact-resistance, high thermal deformation temperature, no cracking at low temperature of 40 ℃, chemical corrosion resistance, and good environmental performance.
